A perfect day at the beach, Blanes, Spain

"We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch, we are going back from whence we came." John F. Kennedy
Blanes, a coastal town of Catalonia has been one of the biggest tourist attractions in Costa Brava. Unfortunately, me and my six girlfriends had just one day in Blanes which we decided to spend by relaxing on the beach.

We took a hike to one of its famous beaches Cala sant francesc across the hills of St. Juan which is around 2 km from the city center. It is one of the quaint beaches in Blanes with calm water surrounded by trees. We came across lot of locals instead of tourists. So, it’s a ‘yes yes’ for families with children. Also, with our beach bags ready with beer and fruits we hogged and relaxed all day long at the beach.

While coming down with our stomachs rumbling we took a halt at a local restaurant and had one of the best Seafood risotto.
Beach, beer, seafood and friends.
Definitely one of the best no-stress beach day ever.

Tips on how to get there:
You can reach here by vehicle or on foot. You can either climb the hill of San Juan all the way from the foot like we did or spend a Euro or two on the bus that runs between the Placa de Catalunya and the Marimurtra Botanical Garden.
